TAMPA- Although you wouldn’t call the “pilots” or “aircraft” successes, the first Red Bull Flugtag in Tampa was, indeed, a success.
Over 100,000 spectators gathered near the Tampa Convention Center to watch the event.
The world-wide Flugtag competition involves brave avaition enthuisats making human-powered gliding aircraft, and launching from a ramp, and crashing into Tampa Bay.
The goal is for the craft to get the best distance. Although the distances weren’t impressive, the “aircrafts” were. The teams were also judged on creativity, many teams brought laughter with their flights.
Many who participated in the event agree it’s all about having fun, and drinking some Red Bull.
Red Bull has sponsered the event all over the world, and say it’s all about Red Bull “Giving you wings!”
Twice the amount of spectators showed up to see the event, making it the largest turnout in the United States.
Waaay too many white trash people live in Tampa, seriously. It was scary on Saturday.
