PINELLAS PARK- Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 7300 block of US Highway 19 around 3am Sunday. Officers checked the area, and found no signs a shooting actually occurred.

Just before 4am, Police received a call from a local hospital that a patient was admitted with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police interviewed the victim, 18-year-old Errick Lovan. Lovan told them that he got into a confrontation with several young men near 74th Avenue and 35th way, and was shot. His brother drove him to the hospital.

Lovan underwent surgery, and is expected to make a full recovery.
